For me, finding Crossfit was a
fluke. I'd been working-out in the gym with my muscle-bound buddy for
several years, but I wasn't seeing any positive changes physically. So,
when I turned 40, I decided I needed something different and drastic. I
did a web search for personal trainers and found Eric. When we met, I
told him I'd gained a little extra around the middle and wanted to lose
it. He put me through a few exercises and said, "Yeah - Crossfit
will help you with that." Man, was he right!
I'm not a big guy to begin with,
so it's almost unbelievable to me that I lost 15 pounds in the first 6
weeks. Yeah, I changed my diet a little (got the broccoli instead of the
fries), but it's almost impossible for me to make too many changes because I can't
drag my family into making changes with me! So, here I am - 10 months
after I started - and I'm 20 pounds lighter! Yeah, I'm wearing shorts
that I couldn't fit into a year ago...but, more than that, I'm healthier and I
can feel the difference. Crossfit isn't easy and it's not meant to be, but the
trainers help personalize the workouts for every individual. Every
workout is about giving maximum effort... beating your personal best... going
further than you thought you could go. Anyone who works out with me knows
I sometimes need A LOT of motivation. The great thing is that the
trainers and other people in the gym give me that motivation... and when I'm
done, I'm always glad I pushed myself to finish. Current fitness level
doesn't matter because, if you're giving 100% then you're doing it right.
As I told Eric this morning, I
love Crossfit. This whole program seems like it is designed for me.
I tell everyone about it and encourage everyone to find a local Crossfit
gym. I wish I had been doing this for the last 20 years, but at least I
have the next 20!

I have always been an active person through out high school & college, but
then life happened. Got involved in my career, got married & life got
hectic. I stopped taking care of me & let everything else take the
place of my fitness routine. And to my surprise, 50 lbs found a home on my
body. (Shocking I know !! ) In the last 8 yrs I have tried different fad
diets & been to many "Globo gyms" & have drove my husband
crazy with " This time it really is gonna work" line. I
realized that my problem was I was bored with the same "step routines
& body sculpting classes" & hated fighting people for a
treadmill. So my boredom turned into curiosity & desire. Desire
& curiosity to find something better than the traditional "globo
gym workout". Along came Crossfit Revolution, Eric & his crew
!! Thank God !! I had heard of crossfit before but was intimidated
by the barbells & pull up bars, but needed to check it out, for me.
After talking with Eric for a long time, his knowledge of exercise &
nutrition sold me. On my first day at crossfit revolution Paul
walked me through the warm up & explained everything to me & I thought "
there is no way I can do this". But his motivation & coaching
has pushed me. And now I have replaced "I can't do it"
with "let me try & I WILL do it "!!
I started 4 months ago & have seen a transformation in my body
that I've never seen before. I've lost almost 25 lbs & dropped 2 sizes,
but what is better than that is: I'm stronger, leaner & have more
flexibility than before. Like most women I was stuck on what the scale
says, but now it's about how I feel. Knowing that I can dead lift 200lbs or do
push ups supercedes what the scale says. I have found a great
bunch of people that love crossfit, encourage one another & push each
other to the next level. I can't thank Eric, Michelle & Paul enough
for all that they have done for me. Their desire for people to get fit
& be healthy is awe inspiring. You guys ROCK !!!

Just wanna say
thanks! I had to run 3.5 miles today! I did it with no problems at all! As you
know I have had several surgeries on my knees and had some Minor back, shin and
arch injuries in the past. I didn't stop once and finished 6 or 7th out of
35-40 people! Woot! Just to let you know I haven't ran for two years! I wanna
say thank you to you, Paul and Michele for all the help and mentoring you gave
me! Crossfit Rocks!

At age 45, I am in
the best shape of my life. I was an experienced Crossfit athlete and
career Special Forces officer, but Crossfit Revolution took my performance
several levels higher. Eric's coaching has significantly improved my
ability to reach my athletic potential. The encouragement provided by all
the other athletes is invaluable. I am stronger, faster, and leaner than
I have ever been. Most importantly, my knees and shoulders are now
healthy, strong, and pain free.

ago there I stood at my usual “Globo Gym” class. After fighting my way
through the door and praying that I would find a spot that wasn’t already
“marked territory” by a die-hard Globo Ginny (I call them). I’d try to
get a position where I could see the instructor while still keeping a safe
distance from one of the new Globo Virgins. Like sheep we’d all heard
into lines trying to stay up with the music before the instructor yelled out
the next choreographed maneuver. “Everyone go the same pace, don’t get ahead
of the instructor!!!” Did I mention this was the SAME routine I’d done
about 4 x a week for 8 months prior to that? The next day I stopped by to
visit CrossFit Revolution. You see I’d heard about “CrossFit” on the
street; Police, Firefighters, Military folk were using it.... they were getting
stronger and seeing these amazing results – these are tough people (I thought)
they had to be on to something – their lives depend on it every day?!?
Okay, I’m interested. I meet Eric... I see pull up bars, weights, bands
and various other contraptions. I tell him I’d like to “supplement” my
current Globo workouts, you know, just to see if I can improve things a bit.
Remember I’d been doing the same classes at Globo over and over expecting
different results...how cute. Eric looked at me with a sheepish grin and
said “you can try this out as long as you like, come in as often as you like
no problem.... but I bet you’ll quit Globo Gym before it’s over with.”
Okay, I love a challenge, so I sign up. He tells me to try a pull up... I
manage 1 and ½ (I’m counting the half alright!) That’s not bad, he
says. Okay, fast-forward 6 months 3 days. I can do 100 pull-ups... mind
you I have to chip away at them, but they do get done! I show up, today I
lift, tomorrow maybe a short run the next day some hand-stands and rowing –
then I go home a new person EVERY NIGHT! I’ve lost inches, weight and a
pant size. Most importantly I look forward to going to the gym, holy
crap! I’ve gained REAL friends, REAL strength and REAL self-esteem.
Not the kind of self- esteem you get from a mirror, the kind you get from
lifting 210 lbs on a dead lift. This is real quantifiable practical fitness –
the workouts are different everyday, the goals keep you progressing to the next
level. There’s no pill, book or mate that can do that! All I can
say is come in... do a pull-up see what happens...Otherwise, there’s an empty
spot over at Globo Gym it’s all yours.

A friend of mine,
Mark Felger, introduced me to Crossfit. He described a covert workout cult to me
in the winter of 2006. I visited the site that day and have everyday since. I
built my basement box and for the next 2 years WODed away in my basement alone,
comparing my results with the others posting on the crossfit.com website. A
couple of friends became Crossfitters as I spread the gospel over those two
years in Knoxville, TN. All of my WODs were sweet, painful, lonely endeavors. I
was a lone Crossfitter. I enjoyed the pain and suffering involved in the work
and kind of thought that the solitude built more strength. I moved to Tampa, FL
in November 2008 for a new job. My basement box was left behind and I scrambled
to find a means to continue to Crossfit.
Enter Crossfit Revolution. After giving
up on the challenge of simulating the WOD with some makeshift WOD, I found that
there was an affiliate in my area. I put aside my hesitancy and walked into
Crossfit Revolution after contacting Eric Auciello by email. Eric encouraged me
to visit and seemed genuinely stoked when I first stopped in. The box Eric had
built was cool. It was a space devoted to fitness with every square foot
involved in the process. Pull-up bars, lifting platforms, bumper plates, kettle
bells, GHD machines, C2 rowers, ropes, rings, and a whiteboard; a Crossfitters
dream. Coming to the gym with some experience, I knew Eric had carefully
constructed the space. Having the equipment to do the WODs was excellent and I
was glad to have all the Crossfit fitness tools available.
After spending the last two months with
Eric and the Crossfit Revolution crew, I found out that there was more to the
Crossfit Revolution experience than the physical equipment for the WOD. The
community that exists is special. Being well equipped to complete all of the
Crossfit exercises is great. However, it is an equally great thing to be part
of a face-to-face community rather than living vicariously in an Internet
community. Eric has established the mindset of integrity, accountability, and
collegiality. His clients embrace this. Those are the principles of people I
want to be around. I get to work out with like-minded individuals who want to
do the work. I get to watch people put doubt on the shelf and move to the next
task. I have seen folks working to be stronger people. I have made friends.

Simply put, Crossfit Revolution is
human reengineering; a totally body makeover. It increases overall strength and
stamina, significantly enhances mental capacities, energizes and invigorates,
reduces fat composition, increases muscle definition, and provides a new level
of self confidence.

I had joined two different gyms in two
years searching for something to help me get back into shape. But they never
seemed to work for me. I had won 5 state championships playing competitive
soccer growing up and I longed for that
level of fitness again in my life. I found CrossFit and thought I would try it
like the other globo-gyms, but the very first day I met Eric I knew this was
different and this was what I was missing. The intensity and diversity of
exercises cannot be replicated anywhere else. What is different about CrossFit
is that it truly focuses on combining explosiveness, power, and endurance to
create real-world athleticism. Eric's knowledge of training, Olympic-style
lifting and even nutrition separate him from every other trainer I have been
involved with. I have a long way to go to reach my fitness goals, but for the
first time I am confident I have the coach and system that I know will get me
there.

Where to start? I had heard about Crossfit from a
several Marine friends of mine who swore it was the best workout program they
have ever seen. So, I read up on the main site and watched countless hours of
videos before I decided to give it a try at the local “Globo Gym” that I was a
member of at the time. Besides the odd looks, being told not to do pull-ups on
the squat racks, and not being allowed to attempt Olympic Lifts it worked out
horribly for a few months. Then, I relocated to Tampa at the beginning of
December. While looking for a new gym and apartment hunting I ran across
Crossfit Revolution website and have not looked back since. Crossfit Revolution
is the best place I have ever found to challenge myself above and beyond what I
ever expected. The camaraderie, competition, and building friendships I have
experienced since starting here are outstanding. Every morning since starting
it has been a fun and challenging competition between David, Ken and I to out
do the other while trying to keep up with Alan. You just don’t find that
anywhere else except maybe the Marine Corps, and at your local “Globo Gym” you
are just a number, a statistic, and a paycheck for some over supplemented,
under fed, and isolated movement meat head who thinks he/she knows fitness.
Come on down meet Eric and learn about true fitness, true nutrition, and true
friendship. Change your life for the better what have you got to lose except
your pride! Be Humble!

I'll make
this quick and to the point. I will never go back to a regular gym (Globo-gym)
again! The results from crossfit are 10x's that of a regular gym. The shape of
my body, my overall strength, energy level, etc... have increased
dramatically in just the three short months I have been doing crossfit. The
challenge is what drives me. The workouts are always different, they are intense,
you always have that one on one training with with REAL trainers that know what
they are talking about, the workouts are timed, and most of them work your
total body. Im always striving to beat my last time or increase my weight! Its
exciting! I love it!!!

Boot Camp was a wonderful way for me to get my muscles back in shape after the
birth of my son. The knowledgeable and careful training with Eric
Auciello helped me build my fitness level back safely. As a lifelong
athlete, it was difficult to accept my limitations after having to take it easy
during pregnancy. The strength and conditioning that I gained allowed me
to get back into the sports that I enjoy. More importantly, it also
helped me keep up with my son. Eric Auciello's training continues to be
critical to ensuring that my workouts are targeted, efficient and safe. I
believe that anyone, at any fitness level, can benefit greatly from his
training. I would highly recommend Eric Auciello and Cross Fit.
