Learning Curve

We're not a chipper gym...we teach complicated movements...like the snatch. Every movement is taught through progression...easy stuff in the beginning...complicated stuff in the end. Once you've shown proficiency in our basic lifts you can graduate to the next level and begin the mastering of additional movements. This allows us to TEACH you how to perform CrossFit properly and (most importantly) safely. Once you've been taught how to lift...you now own this knowledge...it belongs to you. Our gym is a classroom and a lab. We find out what works and what doesn't...we keep the best and leave the rest. Can your spin class boast that?

The Marathon Blues

Hi all, I just wrote an article for publication and I thought I'd make it available if anyone was interested. It's a case study of a gentleman who came to me with a chronic condition and the hopes of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. The Link is located below. Specialization

It's important to understand who and what Herm is all about. He's a runner, a true specialist. Herm's an extremely dedicated, accomplished and talented athlete, who describes himself as "a soon to be 57 year old male, enjoying my second running life, which was resurrected about 6 years ago. My first running life was during my 30's, when I achieved times of 38 minutes for 10k and 3:11 for the marathon. That first running life was ended by a 6 month long chronic left knee problem, followed by a decline of interest."

As you can see, in the past Herm was literally the leader of the pack. But, over the years this Alpha dog had been continually sidelined with chronic injuries. Recently his left knee started acting up again and he came to me looking for some answers. Prior to seeking my services, Herm sought conventional medical assistance. Unfortunately, this resulted in a dead end and no real diagnosis. The only answer medical experts could provide him was, "stop running...it's bad for your knees”.

The gorgeous gals of CF Rev have been getting some crazy publicity on all the blogs and websites. I found this little gem on CF East's site while browsing some of their content. Damnnnn....Michele has been training in our gym for about 3 days and she looks like this...you can't get those kind of results from Zoomba! Brace yourself fool!

Florida Sectionals: CF REV KICKS ASS!

Overall it was a great weekend…we witnessed some amazing performances by all the participating athletes. It takes a lot of courage to sign up and compete at this level…especially with the unknown nature of the workouts. I would like to commend everyone who met the challenge and competed this weekend…especially Nat, Nicole, Michele, Trey, Dave, Rudy and Mike. You guys all kicked ass…great job all around!

I’d like everyone to keep in mind that there were over two hundred of Florida's best Crossfit athletes competing. So, I’m really proud to announce that… two of our athletes qualified for the South East Regional competition in Jacksonville.

Rudy Kirkpatrick and Mike Grace will both be moving on to the next phase of competition…with an ultimate goal of advancing to the nationals. Both of these guys have been killing themselves in the gym leading up to this weekend and I want to acknowledge how hard they have worked…I’m proud of you guys.

 Rudy earned a spot on the podium and received a sweet ass bronze kettlebell (pretty sure its spray paint) But, in all seriousness…it was an amazing performance on his part! He is officially the third fittest man in Florida ! I actually think he’s first…but he got hosed on some reps. His performance and hard work was something to behold…simply amazing…congratulations on your accomplishment…you should be proud.

 

Mike cracked the top fifteen and earned himself a spot in Jacksonville. Not bad for someone who wasn’t sure he was ready to compete…I’m glad he decided to take this step. Mike is an amazingly tough and talented athlete and he showed it this weekend. I was proud to be associated with such an inspiring performance. It was truly something to behold…great work Mike and congrats.

 Nat, Michele, Nicole, Dave and Trey didn’t qualify for the regionals. However, their tremendous amount of effort and hard work leading up to and during the competition needs to be recognized. Working with you all leading up to this event and witnessing your progress and accomplishments has been extremely fulfilling. Thanks making my job so fun…I’m proud of you all.  A ton of personal records where set in this group and they all rose to the occasion and righteously represented CF Rev. Congratulations to you all…your hard work, courage and dedication has made you leaders in our community and for that I cant thank you enough.  

 Last but not least….we had a solid turn out of supporters, friends and family…I’d like to thank all of you who made the 3.5hr trip to cheer us all on. The weekend would not have been the same without such a dedicated and loving support staff…thank you all for your hard work and commitment.

P.S.  We are putting together an affiliate team for the regional and I know some of you may be interested at taking a shot at the crown? Please let me know who is interested in participating?
