This is an older post from CrossFit One World but I was thinking about how the same thing applies to our gym as well.
"Coach Glassman once pointed out that people who do Crossfit are of strong moral character. Let's face it... shitheads don't have the moral fortitude to push themselves to the limit day in and day out. They look for the easy way out in life and that usually means taking advantage of other people. I work as a police officer in Union City, and I live a few miles from the PD and One World. I come across shady people day in and day out. I can go to the grocery store at just about any time and see someone who I have arrested or have had "police contact" with. Police officers spend a good amount of their time dealing with only 1% of society. I am happy to say not a single member of the 1% has ventured through the doors of One World.
We have discovered at One World that you can leave out money, jewelry, watches, cellphones and iPods, and they will always be there when you get back to the gym two days later or two weeks later. There are only two things that go missing at One World on a regular basis: athletic tape (picture above) and my black Wigwam beanies. (I have left two of them on the floor after workouts and both went missing the next day.) The tape I can understand. Some of you overuse tape as much as you overuse chalk :-)~ But the beanie thing I don't get. Who knows where the hell my head has been....."
